About Carol

Carol is a life-long learner.  She has a BA degree in Speech and English from California State University at Long Beach, and has done additional graduate work in adult education and theology.  She has been certified as a Pastoral Care Specialist by the Pastoral Counseling Center in Nashville, and most recently by The Center for Journal Therapy for her participation in their 2015 Poetry Therapy Intensive in Colorado.  In 2012 she began to research writing for healing and became acquainted the Therapeutic Writing Institute. Early in 2015 she began using poetry in a learning circle with residents in rehabilitation and long-term care.  She has seen the power of poetry to heal.

Before becoming a wife and mother (and now a grandmother), Carol discovered the deeper healing of faith in Jesus Christ.  Both in and out of theological schools, the Bible has been her comfort and guide.  She  has a passion for correctly interpreting the Scriptures as well as encouraging people in Bible study.  This blog has evolved into an “occasional word of wisdom” which she hopes to someday provide in print to her grandchildren.

    Dear Carol,
I am so amazed and so proud of you for doing what you are doing! You have touched lives, including mine. I am inspired now to write poetry, too. May the Muse shine down on me!
    Love, your sister. 😄
